Dateability is the only dating app designed for the disabled and chronically ill communities. People with disabilities and chronic illness often encounter ableism on other dating apps. We understand the unique circumstances that present when dating with a disability, which is why we created a safe and accepting space to create meaningful connections for people with physical, intellectual, and psychiatric disabilities.

About Us
Dateability was founded by sisters, Alexa and Jacqueline Child. Jacqueline, who is disabled due to chronic illness, experienced discrimination and offensive comments on the mainstream dating apps due to her disability. The sisters decided to change the social experiences of a population that has been overlooked and marginalized for far too long. Jacqueline and Alexa are dedicated to making Dateability the go-to platform for the disabled & chronically ill communities.

“I became permanently disabled at age 55, in a bicycle crash. I stayed single and focused on my recovery for the last 8 years. Then I heard about Dateability from someone on Instagram so I did the thing! I matched with Howard (San Francisco) and we chatted on the app. I first became attracted to his sense of humor. We decided to go off app for phone calls on February 12. It went well. So well that when I needed a surgery on March 12, he bought a ticket to fly here, drive me to my procedure, and care for me a couple days before flying home. We got to know each other-a lot of the modesty stuff and boundaries were discussed beforehand- let’s just say it all worked out better than anticipated. He has Parkinson’s Disease and it turns out our abilities complement one another. As an example, Howard can drive while I have a sitting disability that makes driving painful. In return, my steady hand sometimes helps us enjoy eating together.”

It was November of 2022. At first, probably because of the small pool, I wasn’t having much luck but then in the second week of December 2022, I received a like from a user named Jack. Now almost a year later, we are planning on moving in together in the next couple of months. Thanks to your app I found my soulmate. I never would have met him without it, as he lives 900 miles away.
